Thanks for coming back to my blog!!
I’m Yuki Tamura, a freshman at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies(TUFS).
Recently, I’ve been busy with my homework- studying and practicing pronunciation of Lao and Chinese, and writing English reports.
However , all of my classes are enjoyable, so I’m having a great time every day.
This time, I’d like to talk about the charms of my university.
There are many charms about TUFS, but I’ll introduce three of them today.
First is the number of languages that we can learn in TUFS.
As the name suggests , TUFS offers a wide variety of foreign languages.
Students can major in 27 different languages, and choose from over 100 languages for our second or third language.
As you may know, I major in Lao and actually, TUFS is the only university in Japan where you can study Lao! Isn’t that amazing?
Just by saying my major, people can tell I’m from TUFS.
In addition ,Czech,Uzbek,Mongolian can also only study in TUFS.
Because fewer people speak these languages, they’re considered valuable skills in today’s global world.
Second is the international atmosphere.
There are so many students at TUFS.
Of course there are so many handsome boys and hot girls too.
One of my classmates is from Madagascar. Can you believe it?
There are also students from China, Korea, the U.S., Laos, Ukraine, and more.
Just being on campus makes me feel like I’m studying abroad!
What’s more, these international students’ age are around teenagers , so I can learn about their fashion by speaking mixed languages-Japanese,English and their mother languages.
Third is a festival of TUFS in November.
Now, Japan is having the World Expo in Osaka, but you can try food from all over the world at our festival for free!
Students who major in Italian make pizza, German majors make frankfurters…
You can also try unique foods like pirozhki (Russian), Vietnamese spring rolls, and much more!
There’s so many dishes that you won’t be able to try everything in one day:)
We also serve desserts and beer — so please come visit the TUFS Festival this year!
My Lao class will probably serve a dish called “Larp”…
Honestly, I’m not quite sure what it is either!
Besides the food, you can enjoy performances in various languages, cultural presentations, and club performances — it’s all super exciting.
If you’re still undecided about your future or interested in international studies, I really hope you’ll visit our festival once and see my university!!That’s all for today.
